On Wednesday 17 February, 7pm - 8pm in the school hall. We will begin in the school hall with a welcome and introductions to teachers. Year 7 parents will then go to their child's classroom. Year 8 parents will be informed about camps before going to classrooms. See you there!
Our Purpose: To prepare students to be active participants who will contribute to their community.
Safety of children is a priority at Oamaru Intermediate School.
Year 8 Technology started today, Thursday. This year we intend to focus more heavily on the practical side of the Technology curriculum, which means it is essential that students are present for all four of their Technology days - if they miss a day, or even part of a day, it is difficult to catch up and may mean they are unable to complete outcomes.
We are looking forward to meeting our new students and seeing our returning Year 8 students tomorrow, Wednesday 3 February. Remember...
Here are some dates to remember of events happening throughout term one at OIS.

We have had a number of questions related to school shoes. Students are required to wear plain black leather lace-up shoes. The shoe and sole of the shoe must be black, no big branding detail on the shoe. Canvas shoes and other casual shoes are not suitable. The important aspect to consider is that your child will be wearing these shoes while in our technology rooms where safety is paramount and must be adhered to. This is applicable from the first day until the last day of the year.
Second-hand uniforms can be delivered clean and in good condition to the school office on Wednesday 16, Thursday 17 and Friday 18 December, 2020 between 12pm - 1pm.
Please see attached a final Whanau newsletter from Lead Principal - Mrs Mary Healey as she bids farewell to Oamaru at the end of the year. Margaret Williams and the wider Kahui Ako Leadership team will continue to build on the success of the Waitaki Ara Kahui Ako.

This service has been set up to redistribute unused electronic devices to those who have a need for them. This is a great initiative for our community so please spread the word.

Reports will be sent home with all students on Thursday 10 December. Your child will have had the opportunity to read their report and clarify any questions with their teacher. Our reports show both the level of achievement and progress made during their time at O.I.S.
