In 2018 OIS was kindly donated a large number of hi-vis vests for our students by Waitaki Road Safe. We'd love our students to be more visible and safe when travelling to and from school!
Oamaru Intermediate School has been advised that since 22nd August, five people have been confirmed with measles in the Southern region and the disease is now likely to be spreading in the wider community.
Only 4 services will be running on Monday. They are as follows: Airedale, Maheno, Clifton Falls and Town Bus. This is due to High Schools being closed for their mid-term break.

OIS has just commenced a very successful 2019 Netball season. We had 8 teams part of the North Otago competition on Saturdays.
On Tuesday, 35 students as part of the Kapahaka group, travelled to the Opera House to perform in the bi-annual North Otago Hui Ako festival.
Last week every class had a free session with Kirsty from St John's in Schools around emergency first aid.
We are in the midst of a very busy three week period. Two weeks ago we had our Open Night for 2020 enrolments, our Cross Country event that Friday, Netball finals last Saturday and I attended the South Island Intermediate Principals Conference in Christchurch for three days.

This group of amazing students from our Powerup Intermediate hub were given an opportunity a few weeks ago to include music as part of their learning in their Powerup sessions.
The Fiefia evening was held at the Waitaki Recreation Centre last week.
During the 2018 calf season a number of dairy farmers in our community elected our school to receive a donation of $0.50 per calf of every calf received by their local processor Oamaru Meats Ltd.
There is a large number of unnamed items in our lost property that is located at the Learning Centre.
It has been a very busy two days at OIS as we hosted 90 students from James Hargest Junior High School in Invercargill.
OIS Cross Country will be held at St Kevin's College at 1.30pm on the 14 August, 2019.
An information evening for families who are enrolling or considering enrolment for 2020 is being held this coming Tuesday 13 August, 2019 starting in the school hall at 6pm. All are welcome to come along to see aspects of the school programme in action and speak with pupils and teachers.
All fees need to be paid by the end of Term 3 (Wednesday 18 September).
