Due to the number of students away at the interschool in Invercargill this week, there will be no basketball this Wednesday.
For the next three days, we have 17 students and 3 teachers from Tezukayama school experiencing Oamaru Intermediate. They are very excited about their trip and the chance to make friends with our students.
Thank you to Mr Hinds and the WBHS Big Choir that came to OIS and performed to our students yesterday in Assembly time. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to hear and see such talent.
Epro8 is based on engineering and problem-solving challenges that are completed in a four-person team. In the Oamaru heats our year 7 Metal Mafia team placed first and the year 8 Arc n Sparks team placed second. Both teams participated in the Otago regional finals last night in Dunedin.

We would like to thank all the people that have helped coach, manage, umpire and support teams this year. It was awesome to see all the girls giving it their all out on the court. Thanks to Miss Taylor who has been our school coordinator, as well as coaching a team.
The Student Council challenge was for OIS to collect more than 400 cans, with the reward being a Mufti Day on Friday. We have exceeded our target with a total of 478 cans received.

Thirty boys were entered in his grade. Sam skied his way on a very icy course into 3rd place representing OIS. Well done Sam...we are very impressed!
