I cannot believe we are at the end of week 2 in Term 3. As I sit here and reflect on the past few weeks, I feel very grateful for the supportive and caring community that I live in and the people with who I have around me here at OIS. We had Tessa Livingstone visit this week, as part of the Education Review team. She spoke very positively to the staff after school about the positive tone in the school and the evidence of strong relationships.

I will be traveling to James Hargest with a number of Oamaru Intermediate students on Wednesday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped get our students to Invercargill next week, and for all the hard work that is gone into coaching teams. A very special thank you to Sharon Wilson for all the hours of work she has put into ensuring that this trip will be successful.

Our 2024 enrolments opened at the end of term and we are excited to see a number of in-zone enrolments and out-of-zone applications coming in. All our enrolments are online so if you require a hand to complete this, then please come into the office where the ladies will be happy to assist you. If you know a family or friend who is interested or intends to enrol their tamariki for 2024, then please encourage them to check out our website regarding the enrolment process or make an appointment to see me. www.oamaruint.school.nz

This year our school raised $2,188.10 for the 40-Hour Challenge which is the most we have ever raised! This money will be going towards giving children and their families clean, accessible water in Malawi. Our Mufti Day was a success too raising $354.10 - we hit our goal of $1,500 which meant Miss James had to cut her hair! Well done to all those who contributed and gave up something for 40 hours to raise money for those in need! The 3 students who raised the most money and will be receiving prizes are Luke Nind with $305, Yvonne Grey with $250, and Ari Edwards-Smith with $190. A huge thank you to Miss James for coordinating and organising this.
