High School transition day: WGHS, WBHS and SKC

By Vic Forrest | Posted: Thursday November 24, 2022

All high schools in the North Otago area have their transition day planned for this Thursday 1 December.

Parents should have received an email from their respective High Schools in the last week with an outline of the day.  If your child is not going to one of these schools, your classroom teacher will be in touch regarding their plans for the day.

All students are to make their own way to either Waitaki Girls', Waitaki Boys', or St Kevin's College, ready to start at 9am - they do not need to come to O.I.S prior.

Waitaki Girls' - Following introductions at the start of the day, students will be placed into groups for their activities. These groups will be accompanied throughout the day by Year 12 future prefects and peer support leaders.

The day begins in our school library at 9am and will finish at 3pm at Wilson Park. Over the course of the day students will experience a number of activities/taster lessons, meet members of our teaching staff, as well as get familiar with the school grounds.

We ask students to wear comfortable clothes they can easily move around in. Lunch is provided by our school hostel, but students will need to bring their own morning tea and drink bottles.

If your child has any food allergies we need to cater for, could you please reply to my email:cwarner@waitakigirlshigh.school.nz
