Principal's Message...

Tēnā koutou katoa, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bula vinaka.

What can I say? The Disney Production of Moana Jr yesterday was absolutely brilliant and the cast, costumes, and crew were excellent. I am so grateful for Anneke Catto, Amanda Notman, and Rebecca Dorsey who have spent hours supporting our students to ensure they were ready for the show. I was so proud to watch our tamariki light up the stage. A special shout out to Waitaki Boys High School for the use of your auditorium and the wonderful boys who ran the sound and lighting booth. To top the night off, three boys from Waitaki Boys performed the Waitaki haka which was an emotional and moving tribute to our students.

Today, we held a very special assembly marking the 60-year anniversary of Oamaru Intermediate School. It was fantastic to have some of our first-day pupils join us at our Assembly.

This week we played our first games of touch and while the weather wasn’t flash, it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the teams that loved having their first run. No touch this Tuesday due to Teacher-Only Day for a number of schools in Waitaki.

A reminder that Monday is a public holiday, Labour Day, and Tuesday is a Teacher-Only Day, we will see all the students at Centennial Park on Wednesday morning by 8:45 am. Children can come to Athletics Day in their PE gear. Check out our Facebook page for any reminders or cancellations.
