Principal's Message...

Our Purpose: To prepare students to be active participants who will contribute to their community.

Tēnā koutou katoa, Talofa lava

Today, we welcomed Tahuna Intermediate to our school for our annual Sports Exchange, a definite highlight for our students. A huge thank you to Sharon Wilson for her organisation of this event.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Quiz Night, with a special shout-out to Hannah Johnston, Phil Martin, and the OIS staff for organising such a successful evening. Your support was invaluable.

Tomorrow, we celebrate Matariki as a nation. Matariki is a time for reflection, remembrance, celebration, and looking forward. It's when we acknowledge those who have passed on, gather with our whānau, and consider our hopes and dreams for the year ahead. The appearance of Matariki in our night sky signals a very special time of year – Te Mātahi o te Tau, the Māori New Year. While the public holiday is tomorrow, we will be holding our celebrations next Thursday, and we would love to see you there.

Lastly, this week is National Volunteers Week, true heroes of our community, our coaches, referees, first responders and many more.  You are the beating heart of our community, and we thank you.
