Belinda Hirst Deputy Principal

Belinda is Deputy Principal at Oamaru Intermediate School.

With many years teaching Year 7 and 8, she is a fervid advocate of Intermediate Schools and the impact they can have on emerging adolescent learners. She strongly believes that every child deserves a quality education and the best opportunities within an environment that nurtures each individual. Belinda advocates that connections between school and whanau are imperative in maximising student progress and achieving successful outcomes.

Belinda shifted to Oamaru Intermediate School in 2016 after 23 years in Auckland and loves the diversity of what Oamaru has to offer. When she’s not at school, Belinda enjoys cycling the A2O trails, playing tennis, reading a good book when time allows and most of all, spending time with her family.
