On behalf of the Waitaki District Youth Council we are taking part on getting the Youths voice in the Waitaki District, we are partnering with Y (Old YMCA Organisation). This is the perfect time for us to spread the word with our youth at Waitaki Boys' and make sure our District Council can improve on what we need more in the District for the youth. Road Safety Promotion

Attached is a poster outlining details for a competition I am running for Road safety week…. There is a prize category for schools…… you could win a $200 prize voucher which could be used for your school van service or any other road safety related things!

It is simple to enter – using your school facebook page or your own one go to my https://www.facebook.com/WaitakiRoadSafety

And find the post with competition details and write in the comments, what the school does for Road safety……..eg - Our Year 6 students work on the school patrol to help everyone cross the road safely, Or your school might be doing something for road safety week eg. “We are doing some kerb drill education with our juniors - Stop, Look, Listen, Decide. Or Our students wear Hi Viz bus vests , etc, etc…. and please could the school share my competition via the school page. The idea around the competition is that everyone can “Be A Road Safety Hero” …. By being responsible when on or near the roads

Pass this on to teachers - if you think they might use it for road safety week – classes could enter via school Facebook page. It runs from 17th May – 31st May.

You and your families can enter too!

Thankyou
