Our Purpose: To prepare students to be active participants who will contribute to their community.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support our students have received in selling Whittaker’s Chocolates. Thanks to your efforts, today we held our Chocolate Assembly, where we celebrated the hard work of our students with a prize draw for those who sold boxes of chocolate. Congratulations to all of our lucky winners!

A special thank you goes out to Jude Garrett, Amanda Notman, the PTA team, and all the dedicated money-counting volunteers who made this fundraising drive such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Learning Conversations are next Thursday, 5 June. Your attendance is valued and supports your child's education and success at O.I.S. These conversations strengthen the home-school connection, which is key to student progress. All students should attend the learning conversation with their whanau and teacher. Thank you for enabling your child to learn from home on this day to support these important discussions.

We've seen a significant increase in student absences due to colds, gastro, COVID, and influenza this week. While we understand the pressure of caring for sick children, unwell students must stay home to prevent further spread and protect the health of everyone. Thankfully, staff illness has been limited, but this could change quickly, resulting in students learning from home. This is something we do as a last resort, and we do appreciate your ongoing support.

Please talk to your child about road safety, especially around the busy roads near school. If they scooter, walk, or bike, remind them to use pedestrian crossings. Encourage them to go straight home after school and, if possible, travel with friends for added safety. Reinforce the importance of making safe choices.

Have a great long weekend!
