Carmen Sim Room 6 Teacher - Year 7
Carmen loves the opportunity to get to know her students individual interests and passions, and to support them in their learning journey in their first year at Oamaru Intermediate.
She came to Primary teaching with many other trades behind her. She's been a qualified hairdresser, a technical writer, a tertiary lecturer and a teacher aide. Carmen has a degree in Information Technology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching and Learning.
In her spare time, Carmen can often be found at the gym teaching Les Mills group fitness classes, or snow or water skiing with her family. She loves living in North Otago because we have everything on our doorstep here and it's a beautiful place to be.
She is a Mum of three and passionate about teaching as part of the year 7 team.
