Boyle River Camp Update

Last week, 55 students, 9 parents and 2 teachers had the most amazing week at the Boyle Outdoor Education Centre in the Lewis Pass......

Students got the opportunity to do activities such as: high ropes, the flying kiwi, abseiling, tubing, orienteering, camping overnight in bivouacs, and team building exercises. These activities pushed a lot of students, and adults, out of their comfort zones and it was fantastic to see everyone rising to the challenges, and the smiles afterwards. We were very lucky to have some amazing parents on camp with us - Jason Little, Matt O'Sullivan, Eugene Conradie, James Nichol, Tony Woodbridge, Shannon Poulson, Kylie Marriot and Lyndon Wardle. Without their help and support, a camp like this could not go ahead and the students and Miss Brien and I, really enjoyed spending time with them. The instructors at the Boyle Centre commented on the behaviour of our students, telling us they were the best group of students they had had in a long time in terms of their positive attitudes, and the respect they demonstrated for the environment, each other and the adults involved. I know that the students from Boyle River Camp 2018 have created life long memories and Miss Brien and I were so pleased to have been a part of this.
