LILBURN, MCCAHON & FRAME | WAS THERE SOMETHING IN THE WATER?
18 September - 25 October 2021 | Vault Gallery
Three of New Zealand’s most significant arts figures – Janet Frame, Douglas Lilburn and Colin McCahon – were all living and attending school in Ōamaru in 1931. All three said their time here inspired either their careers or some of their future work. This exhibition touches on these artists’ experiences while they lived in Ōamaru and considers how it impacted their lives.
