Firstly, a huge thank you to the staff of Oamaru Intermediate for all the work they have done over lockdown.

  • We are excited to share with our community that Pozzobon Catering will be starting to provide Healthy School Lunches programme for all students starting from Monday 20 September. The canteen will be running next week with limited stock. For the remainder of the year, the canteen will be running at Break 1 by a group of OIS students with limited stock, as healthy lunches will be provided daily the canteen will be closed at lunchtime.
  • We are excited to announce that we have been notified by the Ministry of Education that Oamaru Intermediate will be getting two new modular teaching spaces to help us address our current roll growth pressure. We are currently using the two technology spaces as classrooms to accommodate our 352 students. Having these two spaces will enable us to utilise our technology rooms for our modules/enrichment programmes.
  • Oamaru Intermediate Board Of Trustees would like to share that they will not be offering the Oamaru Intermediate School grounds as a vaccination venue for COVID19. We believe this role should remain the responsibility of the children’s parents or caregivers. If whanau decide to vaccinate their child or children, they should arrange this through their GP or Community Vaccination Centre. Our priority is teaching and learning. This policy will remain in effect unless directed otherwise by the Ministry of Education.
  • A reminder that proposed enrolments need to be into the Oamaru Intermediate School office Friday 17 September 2021.

Bec O’Sullivan, Board of Trustees Chair.
