Principal's Message...

Our Purpose: To prepare students to be active participants who will contribute to their community.

Tēnā koutou katoa, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bula vinaka.

I was lucky enough to take 90 children to Invercargill for our James Hargest Exchange this week. Our students were outstanding ambassadors for our school both on and off the field, returning home with the shield!

This Monday 16 August is our Open Night, 6pm - 7.30pm. This is an opportunity for our school to showcase the many opportunities we offer at O.I.S. and a chance for Year 6 students and families to meet our amazing team.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tony and Kerry van der Sluis from Whitestone Vistalite North Otago for their generous sponsorship of our new rugby uniforms. The team looked outstanding on their first outing and had a convincing win over James Hargest College 66-7. We appreciate your support of O.I.S.

With winter sports coming to an end, I would like to thank all of our coaches, managers, and teachers in charge of sports. Without this support, we would not have such a large number of students involved.

Kind regards

Rebecca Meek, Principal
