Principal Update

As you are well aware the various government ministries are providing directives regarding ways in which we can slow the spread of Covid-19.

I can assure you that we are following all the protocols to keep everyone safe. We have increased cleaning of tables, desks, chairs and high risk touching areas such as door handles and light switches.

  • All our cleaning products and soap dispensers contain the recommended active ingredients.
  • We are endeavouring to maintain hand sanitisers in each room but we are waiting for stock which is on order.
  • We have paper hand towels in all bathrooms and tissues in classrooms.
  • We have cancelled full school assemblies on Fridays until further notice.
  • Touch Rugby is cancelled after school today.
  • The North Otago Swimming Sports on Wednesday is postponed.
  • The Rippa Rugby Tournament on Friday is not going ahead.
  • At this stage there is no intention to shut the school. This is a decision that would be made by the Ministry of Health.
  • Our best defence against the spread of Covid-19 is to maintain a regime of high personal hygiene with frequent washing of hands with soap, covering mouth and nose if coughing or sneezing and keeping your child at home if they are unwell.
