Term 3 Week 8 - As you are aware we are a PB4L school. PB4L is about considering and/or changing the environment, systems and practices that we have in place to support students to make positive behaviour choices.

Throughout the term, and the year, all students are taught about what an OIS IDEAL student is.

Our school values are statements that make an IDEAL student:

  • Dare to Succeed
  • Engage with Mana
  • Act with Respect
  • Learn with Purpose

As part of our IDEAL positive behaviour for learning approach students who are displaying IDEAL values may be rewarded with an IDEAL card. The teacher will explicitly acknowledge how the child showed an IDEAL value, the student will tick the relevant box and put it in the class draw box. Each week one student's name is drawn out of the class IDEAL box to go in the school assembly IDEAL draw. Each student who had their name drawn out receives a free juicy voucher for the canteen. All IDEAL cards are collected at the end of each week and tracked against each child. Once 10 Ideal cards are collected per child in each area the will receive a badge that represents the area they achieved the 10 IDEAL cards in.
