Principal's message

It has been a very busy two days at OIS as we hosted 90 students from James Hargest Junior High School in Invercargill.

This annual event has been happening on a home and away basis since 1988. Many memories and friendships have resulted from this interschool.

As you will see from the results, there were many close contests with the final result being an 8-7 win to OIS.

Events such as this take a lot of organisation and rely on the goodwill of many people - coaches, umpires, supporters, teachers and administrative staff but most important of all, is the generosity of parents who host the visiting students. I wish to express my gratitude to all those involved in this event. James Hargest staff specifically asked me to pass on their gratitude. All of their students spoke highly of the families they stayed with and appreciated the hospitality they were shown.
