2019 O.I.S House Choirs competition - Congratulations RATA

The lead up has been intense and the competition rife, in both the staff and the students...

What a great afternoon at O.I.S!!! Some beautiful singing, great dance moves and colourful props. This year each house sang 'Tutira mai nga iwi' and a chosen piece from the '80s era: Konini - I Love a Rainy Night, Kowhai - Footloose, Rata - Wake Me Up and Ngaio - I'm Still Standing. Congratulations to everyone involved. The final placings and awards were as follows:

1st - Rata
2nd - Ngaio
3rd - Konini
4th - Kowhai

Most Promising Conductor - Sophie Notman (Rata)

Best Soloist - Hannah Lewis (Kowhai)

Best Accompanist - Kenny Manaia (Kowhai)

A big THANK YOU must go to Miss Paterson and Mrs Forrest who have organised this event for OIS. Well done!

Also, it was great to see so many parents and whanau supporting the choirs, thank you for being part of our community.
