On Monday the 10 of September, the Waitaki Boys High School Polyfest group came to OIS to perform. Their performance was so unbelievable that everyone had their eyes on them the whole time. The group danced, sung and had students playing on the drums. Even though the music was so fast, the boys were amazing, dancing and keeping in time to the beat.
Last week at OIS we had a great opportunity to watch a stunning performance by Bernard Mangakahia, called The Spirit of Polynesia. The aim of this performance is to help children find courage, belief, confidence and MANA.

As part of my Room 14 Literacy group, we have been studying Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. We have explored the major themes and are analysing the characters and their interactions. We were given the task of writing a letter from a character's point of view. I stepped into Juliet's shoes and wrote to her parents about her situation and emotions. After collecting enough ideas, I started to write, slowly turning my work into something that took longer than expected to complete. In the end, it was done, and I was proud. I hope you enjoy reading it.
Spark NZ for their generous donation of sanitary products for our students. We appreciate your generosity and we would also like to thank.....
