Mary has been Principal of Oamaru Intermediate for 10 years. She has recently been appointed as the Lead Principal of the Waitaki Ara Community of Learning
Mary’s teaching career ranges from teaching new entrants to year 8 students from Southland to Northland. She is totally committed to providing an environment that caters for diversity and challenges students to achieve.
Mary strongly believes in our school whakatauki –“Ki te Taumata – Get there with Learning”. This applies to staff and students. She has an expectation that everyone at OIS continues to learn and improve themselves in a setting that provides opportunities; to collaborate and problem solve, be innovative and creative, to become digitally fluent, be kind to others and contribute to our community.
Any spare time Mary has is taken up with gardening, upholstery, reading, and spending time with her family in school holidays.
