OIS daily timetable

Moving forward from the beginning of term 2, we are going to trial a 4 block learning timetable, we currently run 3 blocks in a day. We have consulted a number of different intermediates and schools, along with our contributing high schools.

Over the last 10 weeks, we have been monitoring engagement levels in class and behaviour in our playground. It has raised many conversations, concerns and questions! Research shows the importance of regular short sharp bursts of break times that allows for more productivity and engagement in the classroom. We have also noticed when reviewing our behaviour data that most of the conflicts that happen in the playground happen in the last 10-15 minutes.

Our timetable that we are going to trial is as below. Please note that we will be starting at the same time BUT finishing at 3.00 pm.

• Block 1: 8.55 am - 10.15 am
• Block 2: 10.35 am -11.45 am
• Block 3: 12.05 pm - 1.05 pm
• Block 4: 1.40 pm - 3.00 pm

We will be talking with students about how this will look for them.
