Week 5 update

By Rebecca Meek | Posted: Sunday February 28, 2021

Kia Ora Parents and whanau. Thank you for your support this week as, for many, this is an unsettling time. We will continue our normal routines.

  • A reminder that students will finish school at 1.30 pm on Wednesday as our staff will be participating in a First Aid Training Course. There will be supervision for those students who catch the bus after school. You must contact the office (437 0822) A.S.A.P. to let the office know if you wish your child to be supervised.
  • Chocolate Slabs will be going home next Monday 8 March.
  • Swimming Sports will now be on Tuesday 9 March. Children can come to school in PE gear. The first race is at 9.15 am.
  • The Triathlon is on Wednesday 10 March. Children can come to school in PE gear. The starting time of 1.15 pm is for the competitive event, the non-competitive event is after.
  • Touch rugby is going ahead this week. The children can only go for their own touch game. This means that children can not hang around the grounds before or after the games. See the North Otago Touch page for more information.
  • New World: OIS children are not to be in the New World before or after school unless an adult is with them. Students are not to ride or scooter through the New World car park at any stage.
  • Road Safety: We have had a number of phone calls about students biking and scootering up driveways, jumping ramps, and swerving in front of cars. These are happening both before and after school, in town, and around our streets. If your son or daughter scooters or bikes to school please make sure that you speak to them about road safety.
  • We are looking for a rabbit hutch. If you have a rabbit hutch that needs a new home, we would love it. Please ring the school office on 03 4370822.

He waka eke noa
